A former police officer, Tom Edwards, is the newest recruit to Driver Hire’s 100-strong office network. He’s just completed the purchase of their Maidstone & Medway franchise.
Running a Driver Hire recruitment business isn’t Tom’s first foray into self employment. Prior to working as a front-line officer for the Sussex Police, he managed a cafe franchise.
“I enjoyed the challenge of running my own business and was keen to get back to it,” says Tom. “I researched the franchise sales market and found Driver Hire. The more I looked into it, the more I could see that this was a well structured business. “In addition,” he continues, “I’d also had some past experience in the road transport industry, so it was a natural fit.”
As well as the core recruitment business, over the coming months Tom will be adding additional services to his roster. These include industry essential Driver CPC training and ‘dh licence check’, Driver Hire’s increasingly popular online licence checking service.
“The Driver Hire business model gives me every opportunity to succeed,” says Tom. “There are a whole host of opportunities for me to grow the business further. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
