Driver Hire Taunton has new owners – Ben and Christine Williams. They’ve purchased the specialist transport & logistics recruitment company from long-standing franchisees, John and Alison Griffiths.
Before buying the business, Christine was an insurance underwriter. Her partner, Ben, worked in project management for Virgin Media. Together the couple have three children.
“We’ve both spent a lifetime working hard helping big multi-national businesses generate profits” says Christine. “We decided that it was time we benefited more directly from our hard work. And that meant becoming self-employed. Buying a franchise is a great route into it – you’re your own boss but you’re buying into a proven business model with the help and support of a well-established franchisor. When we heard that John and Alison were looking to retire and sell their franchise it was a perfect opportunity. There are huge opportunities here in Taunton to grow the business further.”
Long-standing member of the Driver Hire Taunton team, Chris Greedy, will continue working in the office for Christine and Ben in their new venture.
A franchise business, Driver Hire, is the UK’s largest specialist supplier of temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to the road transport industry. It works with local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If a client is short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays, or seasonal demand – Driver Hire supplies them with a suitable replacement.
