Franchisees help Driver Hire notch a notable first
Franchisees in the Driver Hire network have helped Driver Hire’s subsidiary company, Driver Hire Training, pass a notable – and probably unique – first. Working together they’ve delivered over 100,000 Driver CPC driver training days.
Driver Certificate of Professional Training (Driver CPC) is a must-have vocational qualification for goods vehicle drivers. Without it, a goods vehicle driver can no longer drive professionally.
When Driver CPC was introduced in 2009, Driver Hire quickly recognised it as a potential additional revenue stream for the business. With this in mind, the company invested in creating Driver Hire Training and a nationwide training network was established.
Local offices were offered the opportunity to become Driver CPC trainers, as a secondary product line. Many franchisees or their staff did so, and as a result Driver CPC training is now a key ‘added value’ service for the nationwide network of over 100 offices. On average, over the past two years, more than fifty training courses have taken place each week.
The Driver Hire Training portfolio has also expanded to include online training and eAssessments. Covering topics such as EU Drivers Hours, Working Time Regulations and other key industry legislation, this all helps to demonstrate the genuine expertise of Driver Hire franchisees with their customers.
Tony Goacher, Driver Hire’s Divisional Managing Director, eServices & Training, added: “Delivering 100,000 driver training days speaks volumes about the quality of the training our franchisees deliver. And, of course, it continues to be a useful addition to their income stream over and above their earnings from our core recruitment business.”
